How much does a road test cost?
Our fee is $85 due at the time of booking an appointment. Please refer to the additional information below for further details.
What does the driver test consist of?
There are two parts of the skilled driver test:
Basic control skills test (e.g., parking, backing, turning)
On-road test.
Failure of either section of the test is a test failure. Keep in mind: the entire test lasts approximately 50 minutes to an hour.
What if I do not bring all the required documents for my road test?
If you do not have all of the above required documents at the time of the road test, this will result in a document failure. A $40 refund of the $85 fee will be issued.
What if my vehicle is not found to be roadworthy/safe during the vehicle inspection?
If any of the components listed in vehicle requirements are not in working order at the time of the road test, this will result in an equipment failure. A $40 refund of the $85 payment will be issued.
What if I do not pass my road test?
You must wait at least 24 hours before you can complete a second road test attempt.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my road test?
A minimum of 24 hours' notice must be provided if you cancel or reschedule your road test. There will be no refund issued to an individual who provides less than 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule their road test. There is no refund due to an individual who does not show up for their road test. A $15 fee of the $85 fee is a non-refundable deposit.
How many times can a person take a road test?
You may attempt the road test as many times as needed. A fee is charged for each attempt. You are required to wait 24 hours between attempts.
If it is raining or snowing, do I still have to take my test?
Yes, road tests will be conducted if there is rain or snow. A minimum of 24 hours' notice must be provided if you wish to cancel or reschedule your road test. No refund will be issued to an individual who provides less than 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule their road test. If conditions become unsafe for a road test to be conducted, you will be contacted and informed by the examiner of the cancellation.
I have an interlock device on my vehicle, can I still take the road test?
Yes! Individuals with an interlock device must take the road test in the vehicle in which the interlock device is installed. This is part of the required vehicle inspection. You will be asked to restart your car upon the initiation of the driver test.

May I bring an interpreter or facilitator with me to my road test?
Yes, if a language barrier exists between the driver and the examiner, the driver is entitled to use an interpreter (at their expense) who is at least 16 years old. The interpreter will be asked to present a photo driver's license, and phone number. Please call the office to further discuss the testing process.
