In Michigan, the motorcycle skills test consists of four basic riding exercises: cone weave, normal stop, turning from a stop and a quick stop. These skills assess your ability to control the motorcycle and respond to hazards.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Cone Weave and Normal Stop: You'll weave through a series of cones at a slow speed and then make a smooth, controlled stop.
Turning from a Stop; U-turn: This involves a turning maneuver while at a stop in addition to a U-turn.
Quick Stop: You'll need to demonstrate a quick and controlled stop under specific conditions.
Obstacle Swerve: You'll need to safely swerve around a simulated obstacle.
Other Considerations: You'll also be scored on things like engine stalling, time and distance standards, path violations, and foot-down violations.
Please note: Selected Examiner is subject to change
