There is no refund due to an individual who does not show up for their motorcycle test. If you cancel for any reason, you will receive $50 of the $65 fee as a refund. A $15 fee of the $65 fee is a non-refundable deposit.

How long should I plan to be there for the motorcycle test?

The Rider Skills test will take about 20 minutes. We schedule them in groups, so please plan to attend between 1-2 hours. You may leave after you have completed your test.

What if I do not bring all the required documents for my road test?

If you do not have all of the above required documents at the time of the road test, this will result in a document failure. A $30 refund of the $65 fee will be issued.

If it is raining, do I still have to take my test?

The pavement must be completely dry to conduct a motorcycle test. In the event of uncooperative weather, we will be in contact with you 24 hours prior to your test to reschedule.

What if I do not pass my motorcycle test?

You must wait at least 24 hours before you can complete a second test attempt. Please take note, you can only fail the motorcycle test two times. If you fail the second time, you will be required to take a mandatory safety course.

What's next after I pass my motorcycle test?

When you successfully complete your motorcycle rider skills test, the examiner will issue a Motorcycle Skills Test Certificate. The Skills Test Certificate is not a Motorcycle Endorsement. To obtain your Motorcycle Endorsement, you will either visit a Secretary of State branch office the following business day or log into your online services account on Michigan.gov/SOS to add the motorcycle endorsement. Check your receipt for further instructions.
